The Andhra Pradesh government is mulling the formation of an anti-narcotic task force to combat the drug menace effectively, according to Dwaraka Tirumala Rao, Director General of Police.

'The state government is very determined to control this drug menace,' said Rao. 'A cabinet subcommittee with five ministers has been formed to study the ganja problem and propose solutions.'

Rao mentioned that an officer of IG rank has been appointed to lead this task force. Additionally, the police plan to activate a toll-free number, 1972, in the coming days. Cybercrime is another area of focus for the state police, particularly in Visakhapatnam and surrounding regions.
