Olympic Medallist Yogeshwar Dutt Eyes Gohana Seat in Upcoming Haryana Elections
BJP leader and wrestler Yogeshwar Dutt has shown interest in contesting the Haryana Assembly elections from the Gohana constituency. Dutt expressed his desire to party leaders, while the BJP Central Election Committee has been finalizing candidates for the upcoming elections.

Olympic medal-winning wrestler and BJP leader, Yogeshwar Dutt, has announced his intention to contest the upcoming Haryana Assembly elections from the Gohana Assembly Constituency.
'I have expressed my wish to contest elections to the Chief Minister and the central leadership. I am a sportsperson, and an Olympic medallist, and I have contested elections from BJP earlier also, so I want to get a chance,' Dutt told journalists.
Dutt, who previously ran for an Assembly seat, has indicated that he communicated his specific interest in Gohana to the leadership. 'Now it is the time for elections, so I want to get a chance to contest from Gohana. I can't be certain about the future, but I have expressed my willingness, and I have told the leadership that I want to contest,' Dutt added.
Meanwhile, the BJP Central Election Committee (CEC) convened a key meeting, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, to discuss preparations for the Haryana Assembly elections. The CEC has finalized candidates for 55 out of 90 assembly seats, with a follow-up meeting scheduled to decide on the remaining 35 seats. The elections will see voting on October 1, with results announced on October 4.
The meeting at BJP headquarters was attended by prominent leaders including BJP National President JP Nadda, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and others. The BJP plans to release candidate names in phases as election preparations intensify.
