Indian National Congress Unveils Star Campaigners for Jammu and Kashmir Polls

The Indian National Congress announced 40 star campaigners on Thursday to spearhead the second phase of electioneering for the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly. Voting in the Union Territory is scheduled for three phases: September 18, 25, and October 1.
In a notification issued on Thursday, the Congress party revealed that INC President Mallikarjun Kharge, Congress Parliamentary Party Chairperson Sonia Gandhi, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi, and Congress General Secretaries Priyanka Gandhi, KC Venugopal, and Jairam Ramesh would be among the star campaigners for the second phase of polling. Other key figures include Congress MPs Ajay Maken, Kishori Lal Sharma, Manish Tewari, and Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu.
The list also features prominent leaders such as Ambika Soni, Bharatsinh Solanki, Tariq Hameed Karra, Ghulam Ahmad Mir, and Sachin Pilot. This set of elections will be the first in Kashmir since the abrogation of Article 370, with votes to be counted on October 8.
