Farmers' leader P Ayyakkannu, known for resorting to bizarre forms of protests, said Wednesday he would stage a protest in Delhi on Friday by slipping a noose around his neck to press for various demands such as farm loan waiver. In a statement here, Ayyakkannu said over 300 farmers would take part in the demonstration to press for various demands including a pension of Rs 5,000 per month for farmers and higher procurement price for their produce.

Ayyakkannu, who heads the National-South Indian Rivers Linking Farmers Association, had staged agitations, including a 'nude protest,' besides carrying human skulls as part of his protests in the national capital in the recent past.
