Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi have intensified their campaign efforts in Haryana as several rallies and meetings are slated ahead of the October 5 assembly elections. On Monday, the Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition arrived in Ambala to boost the party's presence in Ambala and Kurukshetra.
Congress MP Kumari Shelja expressed confidence in the party's chances of winning the Haryana elections. 'We are doing very well. We are confident we will win the Haryana elections. Wherever Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi go, the people and the party are getting a new energy,' Shelja told the media.
Shelja also mentioned that the decision regarding the Chief Ministerial candidate will be made by the party high command after the elections. 'The CM face will be decided by the party high command after the elections,' she reiterated during a campaign event in Ambala for candidate Parminder Pari on September 29.
Shelja claimed overwhelming public support for the Congress party. She noted, 'We are receiving massive support from the people, and we are hopeful that they will vote for the party, enabling us to form the government. Ambala is my old constituency, which is why I have come here. Tomorrow, Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi will visit this area.'
On Sunday, Shelja campaigned for Pradeep Chaudhary, the Congress candidate from Kalka, expressing confidence in his victory despite challenges. 'Pradeep Chaudhary has faced many challenges and has always stood by the public. The BJP has consistently conspired against Congress leaders. I am confident that people will vote for the Congress candidate in large numbers,' she stated.
