In a bold statement, Andhra Pradesh's Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu declared the development of Amaravati as not just a state capital but a significant symbol of national pride. Speaking to reporters, he praised the comprehensive blueprint for transforming the city into a model capital, emphasizing the pivotal role played by local farmers who contributed land for its creation.

Today marked the inauguration of Amaravati's reconstruction works, with Chief Minister Naidu highlighting past infrastructure achievements, including Hyderabad's development with eight-lane roads and a metro network. Despite initial criticism for allocating extensive land for Hyderabad Airport, it now contributes 16% to the State Domestic Product, he noted.

The Chief Minister commended over 29,000 farmers who voluntarily donated land, amassing a total of 54,000 acres for Amaravati's development. He criticized the previous government's neglect of these farmers, who have protested and fought for the realization of their capital city dream. Naidu assured continued efforts to integrate global best practices in building the city's future.
