India's cotton production is set to decline by 7.4% to 30.2 million bales for the 2024/25 season, according to a report from a leading trade body.
The Cotton Association of India (CAI) cited reduced cultivation area and excessive rainfall as the primary reasons for this drop in production.
As a result, cotton imports are anticipated to increase to 2.5 million bales, compared to 1.75 million bales last year, indicating a significant impact on the market dynamics.
