Nationwide 'Run for Unity' Celebrates Sardar Patel's Legacy

The Union Minister of Ports, Shipping, and Waterways, Sarbananda Sonowal, commenced the 'Run for Unity' marathon in Guwahati on National Unity Day, paying tribute to India's inaugural Home Minister, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. According to Sonowal, the marathon was possible due to Assam's public support, as he spoke with ANI about the event's significance.
Sonowal highlighted the communal spirit present at the event organized by the Ministry of Ports, Shipping, and Waterways. He acknowledged that individuals nationwide, including BJP chief B.Y. Vijayendra in Karnataka, participated in the 'Run for Unity' to commemorate Patel's enduring legacy, urging the youth to remember Patel's sacrifices.
In other states, such as Tripura and Uttarakhand, chief ministers joined similar runs. In Delhi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah underlined the event as a testament to India's unity and a step towards a 'Viksit Bharat'. The Unity Run was rescheduled to October 29 this year, aligning with Dhanteras and Diwali festivities.
