In a heated political exchange, BJP Rajya Sabha MP Subhash Barala has harshly criticized AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal. Barala accused Kejriwal of making 'fake promises' to Delhi's citizens in the run-up to the Assembly elections, alleging that he has failed to fulfill past commitments. According to Barala, Delhi's people have experienced deceit from Kejriwal through unfilled promises, claiming no substantial change has occurred on the ground during Kejriwal's tenure.

Barala further pointed out perceived inconsistencies in Kejriwal's political journey, referencing his statements during the Anna agitation about leaders not needing undue privileges. Barala contrasted these remarks with Kejriwal's current lifestyle, mentioning his ownership of a costly residence, and prior legal troubles, which he argues reflect poorly on Kejriwal's governance. Meanwhile, Kejriwal has launched his own attack, accusing the BJP of planning to demolish religious sites, a charge that adds fire to the ongoing political feud between the parties.

The conflict escalates as BJP members protest the 'Pujari & Granthi Samman Yojana,' outside a historical Delhi temple, denouncing Kejriwal's alleged dishonesty. Kejriwal, in his defense, expressed concern over the BJP's supposed opposition to compensating religious leaders while simultaneously, as he claims, plotting temple demolitions, inflaming public anger. Adding fuel to the fire, Delhi Chief Minister Atishi accused the BJP-central government of intending to raze multiple temples and Buddhist sites, challenging the BJP's public stance of protecting religious sites. Atishi's appeal to refrain from destroying religious faith resonates as the political battle over Delhi's religious landscape continues amidst elections.
