In a dramatic turn of events, a forest fire that ignited in the hills near Katra has been largely contained due to concerted efforts by various agencies. Personnel from Fire and Emergency Services, alongside the Forest Department and local volunteers, have been relentlessly battling the flames for the past two to three days.

Forest Inspector Arun Sharma, in an interview with ANI, detailed the persistent challenges faced by the firefighting teams. Despite successfully dousing the flames during the daytime, the fire reignited multiple times, including at night. 'Three to four teams have been deployed across different sectors, dedicating all their resources to extinguish the fire,' Inspector Sharma stated, adding that they have managed to bring the situation largely under control.

The firefighting efforts continue as teams aim to completely extinguish any remaining hotspots. Updates are awaited as the situation develops. (ANI)
