Epsilon Group unveiled its ambitious plan to invest Rs 15,350 crore in Karnataka for the development of a cutting-edge manufacturing and research facility dedicated to electric vehicle (EV) battery testing and advanced materials. The group signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Karnataka at the Invest Karnataka Summit in Bengaluru.

The strategic investment, scheduled over the next 10 years, aims to boost India's EV ecosystem, creating thousands of jobs and reinforcing the nation's stature as a hub for advanced battery technology. Epsilon's subsidiaries will manufacture key battery components, while the Inspire Energy Research Center will spearhead R&D, testing, and training initiatives.

The investment plan includes Rs 9,000 crore for a Graphite Anode plant, Rs 6,000 crore for an LFP Cathode plant, and Rs 350 crore for a battery materials R&D center. Epsilon's commitment signifies a major step towards reducing India's dependency on imports, enhancing local production, and achieving self-sufficiency in critical battery materials to fuel India's clean energy transition.
