Mahakumbh's Magh Purnima Snan Draws Record-Breaking Crowds

The Magh Purnima 'snan' at the Mahakumbh Mela in Prayagraj concluded successfully, with over 1.3 crore devotees participating. As the festival progresses, authorities continue to implement innovative techniques to manage the huge influx, ensuring smooth proceedings. The event has already attracted a cumulative 462.5 million visitors.

The Mahakumbh Mela in Prayagraj witnessed yet another successful culmination as the Magh Purnima 'snan' drew over 1.3 crore devotees. This milestone marks a significant achievement for the organizers amid the world's largest spiritual gathering, which is set to continue until February 26.

Urban Development Department Secretary Anuj Jha highlighted the thorough preparations made to accommodate the lakhs of Kalpavasis and crores of pilgrims attending the event. Speaking to ANI, Jha praised the efficient arrangements by the nodal department, noting that the cumulative visitor count exceeded 46 crores.

Authorities faced challenges, notably following the Mauni Amavasya incident, but implemented 'Build back better' strategies to enhance safety. DGP Prashant Kumar reported that live surveillance via a newly established war room in Lucknow allowed for real-time monitoring of footfall. Kumar said these innovations yielded positive results as the mela continues to attract global attention.
