BSF and ANTF Amritsar Seize 1.1 kg Narcotics in Coordinated Operation

In a joint operation, BSF and ANTF apprehended two Indian smugglers with 1.1 kg of narcotics near the Amritsar border. This reflects ongoing efforts to curb smuggling activities. Meanwhile, a drone from Pakistan was seized, highlighting BSF's vigilance in securing national borders against cross-border threats.

In a decisive effort to curb cross-border smuggling, the Border Security Force (BSF) and the Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) of Amritsar captured two Indian smugglers with 1.1 kg of narcotics on Wednesday. The operation, set near the Amritsar border, was underscored in a press release from the BSF Punjab Frontier.

The Intelligence Wing of the BSF had earlier flagged a potential smuggling operation involving several suspects along the Amritsar border. Acting swiftly on this tip-off, the BSF and ANTF initiated a joint operation on February 11, 2025. Around 10:10 pm, the team established a checkpoint near Village Chota Fatehwal, resulting in the arrest of the suspects and the confiscation of two packets of suspected heroin and a motorcycle.

The arrested individuals, residents of Sarang Dev village under the Ajnala Police Station in Amritsar, are currently held by ANTF for further investigation. This successful intervention is a testament to the BSF's unwavering commitment to securing the nation's borders and their ongoing collaboration with Punjab Police to eradicate smuggling along the International Border.

Adding to their recent successes, BSF recovered a drone on February 6, believed to have crossed over from Pakistan, in Village Mahawa, Amritsar. This demonstrates BSF's continued diligence in combating drone-assisted infiltration and smuggling attempts.
