The Rouse Avenue court granted Aam Aadmi Party MLA-elect Amanatullah Khan protection from coercive actions until February 24, amid an ongoing investigation. Khan is implicated in hindering a police effort to arrest Shavej Khan, who was declared a Proclaimed Offender concerning an FIR from 2018.

In seeking anticipatory bail at the Delhi Rouse Avenue Court, special judge Jitendra Singh instructed authorities to conduct interrogations under CCTV surveillance. The court questioned the Delhi police's assertion that Shavej Khan was a Proclaimed Offender during a police operation on February 10 in Jamia Nagar.

The court dismissed the police's request to ban Amanatullah Khan from the area and demanded a police response on his bail status. Conflicting claims were presented; Khan's counsel noted prior anticipatory bail for Shavej and challenged his offender status, exposing errors and sparking calls for departmental inquiries into police actions.
