A tragic incident unfolded in Uttar Pradesh's Bhadohi district where a 17-year-old girl, Sanjana Kumari, allegedly took her own life after her family refused to let her attend a birthday party, local police reported on Thursday.

The young girl was discovered hanging from the ceiling fan in her room, using her dupatta, by her grandfather, Chhavinath. He immediately alerted the authorities, leading to the body being sent for post-mortem examination, according to a police officer.

Sanjana, who resided in Jethupur village with her grandfather, elder sister, and two younger brothers, faced heartbreak as her uncle left for the party, taking the family along but leaving her behind. Upset and isolated, the emotional distress led to her tragic decision, sparking further investigation by the police.
