Millions Gather at Maha Kumbh Mela for Holy Dip in Triveni Sangam

A massive throng of devotees descended upon the ongoing Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj on Friday, eager to participate in the traditional holy dip at the revered Triveni Sangam. The Uttar Pradesh administration reported that an astounding 491.4 million pilgrims have visited the site since the 2025 festival commenced.

The UP government's information department announced that as of 8:00 PM, approximately 8.54 million devotees participated in the holy ritual today, including over 500,000 Kalpavasis and 6.42 million pilgrims. Among those taking part were Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha and his wife, who prayed for their state's peace and prosperity.

Actor Vivek Oberoi, accompanied by his family, also joined the celebration, expressing pride in the event's grandeur and gratitude to the government for facilitating the gathering. The Maha Kumbh Mela, which began on January 13, 2025, continues to attract global participation and will conclude on February 26.
