Drones and Devotion: How UP Police Tackle Maha Kumbh Traffic

The Uttar Pradesh Police efficiently managed the massive influx of devotees at the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj, utilizing drones for monitoring. Despite rumors spread on social media, the police ensured a smooth spiritual experience for millions at this historic event, also marking the first with over 500 million participants.

In the midst of the ongoing Maha Kumbh, Prayagraj's streets saw a remarkable influx of devotees, posing a significant challenge for the Uttar Pradesh Police. However, with strategic planning and the aid of drone technology, law enforcement successfully facilitated the movement of over 90 lakh devotees on Friday, according to Bhanu Bhaskar, ADG, Prayagraj.

IG Range Prayagraj, Prem Gautam, and Bhaskar personally oversaw operations, inspecting drone footage and ensuring the flow of both vehicular and foot traffic remained smooth. Bhaskar reported that officers worked diligently, providing seamless handling for the millions who turned up at the globally attended event.

With more than 500 million participants, the Maha Kumbh has set a global record. The festivities, beginning on Paush Purnima, have seen millions take a dip in the sacred rivers with a robust turnout on key days. Meanwhile, police have been vigilant against misinformation, addressing misleading social media content linking the event to unrelated incidents.
