Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University Convocation Emphasizes Leadership in a Changing World

At the 10th Convocation Ceremony of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah urged graduates to rise to the challenges of a rapidly evolving world defined by artificial intelligence, climate change, and global competition. Emphasizing the significance of ethical leadership, Abdullah said that both India and the global community are in dire need of responsible and compassionate leaders.
Abdullah reminded students of the unique privilege of graduating from an institution named after Mata Vaishno Devi, a symbol of power and wisdom. He stressed that true success is not only about personal achievement but also about overcoming challenges with integrity and uplifting others. A degree, he added, is more than a mere credential; it is a tool to make a significant impact.
Omar Abdullah encouraged aspiring entrepreneurs to innovate sustainably, scientists to drive advancements, artists to inspire, and leaders to steer with vision. He underscored the importance of viewing failures as integral to eventual success. Attending the ceremony, Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankhar honored meritorious students, and along with his wife, participated in a tree-planting ceremony to honor their late mothers. Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha was also present.
