Congress Member of Parliament Gaurav Gogoi has voiced serious concerns over former US President Donald Trump's claims about a $21 million transfer to India supposedly for 'voter turnout' ahead of elections. Gogoi expressed his worries regarding conflicting media reports and called for transparency, indicating that this alleged financial transaction requires further scrutiny. During a recent AICC spokesperson conference, Pawan Kerra also highlighted loopholes within the story.

In a robust critique of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Gogoi accused the party of persistently altering its narrative, stating that the BJP’s reliance on misinformation and propaganda has become evident. Trump's controversial assertions have exacerbated tensions, as he remarked about sending funds for voter turnout in India, questioning, "What about us? I want voter turnout too."

Further, Gogoi addressed a disturbing incident involving Congress leader Rakibul Hussain, who was reportedly attacked by a mob in Rupahihat, Assam, alongside two police officers. He condemned the Assam government's inaction, especially the silence of the Chief Minister, following the violent assault, questioning the support for law enforcement amidst growing unrest.
