Puducherry's Commitment to Farmers Through Central Schemes

Puducherry Lt Governor K Kailashnathan underscored the territorial government's dedication to executing centrally sponsored schemes aimed at elevating the livelihoods of farmers. He addressed the critical role these initiatives play in mitigating challenges posed by natural disasters such as floods, cyclones, and droughts.

Speaking at a gathering of farmers after witnessing the 19th installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) programme, Kailashnathan elaborated on key measures, including the Minimum Support Price (MSP), PM-KISAN, and the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY), designed to support the agricultural sector.

Chief Minister N Rangasamy confirmed the Puducherry government’s assurance in executing central schemes, in collaboration with the Centre, for the benefit of farmers and vulnerable groups. He acknowledged Prime Minister Narendra Modi's support in fostering Puducherry's overall development.
