Karnataka Assembly Introduces Recliner Chairs Amidst Economic Debate

Karnataka Legislative Assembly Speaker UT Khader plans to provide recliner chairs for legislators during the upcoming session to enhance attendance. Simultaneously, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah rebukes BJP's criticism of economic mismanagement, aiming to rectify the financial chaos inherited from the former regime.

Karnataka Legislative Assembly Speaker UT Khader has announced plans to introduce recliner chairs for legislators during the forthcoming session starting next month. This effort is part of existing measures to increase attendance, offering a convenient rest area post-lunch within the Assembly lounge to discourage members from leaving.

With sessions held only about 30 days annually, around 15 to 20 recliner chairs will be rented rather than purchased, according to Khader. This initiative builds on previous reforms aimed at enhancing legislators' participation and engagement.

Meanwhile, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has fiercely countered BJP criticisms regarding the state's financial health, blaming the former administration for pushing the economy toward collapse. Highlighting unpaid bills and overbudget projects, Siddaramaiah asserts the current government is working diligently to restore fiscal order.
