Devotees Flock to Nashik for Mahashivratri Amid Prayagraj Crowds

Faced with crowds in Prayagraj, many devotees turned to Nashik for Mahashivratri, offering prayers at the Shri Trimbakeshwar Jyotirlinga Temple and taking holy dips in the Godavari River. The festival atmosphere was enriched by traditional attire, offerings, and devotional chants, drawing pilgrims from across the region.

Amid heavy crowds in Prayagraj, a significant number of devotees opted to celebrate Mahashivratri in Nashik, taking part in religious rituals at the Shri Trimbakeshwar Jyotirlinga Temple and in the sacred Godavari River.

The festive atmosphere at Nashik was vibrant, with the temple and riverbanks bustling with chants and the ringing of bells. Devotees donned traditional attire and offered milk, flowers, and fruits as part of their reverence to Lord Shiva.

Rupali, a devotee, expressed fulfillment in choosing Nashik, while others like Rekha Sandeep Suryavanshi highlighted Nashik’s more accessible ambiance compared to Prayagraj. Mahamandaleshwar Savidhanand Saraswati extended greetings, wishing for global welfare during this auspicious time. The annual celebration, dedicated to Lord Shiva and deeply rooted in Hindu traditions, attracted an estimated million pilgrims to the temple.
