BSF Foils Infiltration Attempts at India-Bangladesh Border

BSF detected and neutralized an intruder at the Pathankot border and apprehended multiple Bangladeshi nationals attempting illegal entry at the India-Bangladesh border. The vigilance led to capturing six individuals, shedding light on ongoing efforts to curb illegal infiltration and bolster border security.

At pre-dawn on Wednesday, Border Security Force (BSF) personnel detected suspicious movement along the International Border (IB) in the BOP Tashpatan area in Pathankot. According to BSF, an intruder was observed crossing the IB and was subsequently neutralized by vigilant troops after disregarding warnings.

In response to this incident, BSF announced plans to lodge a strong protest with the Pakistan Rangers over the infiltration attempt. Concurrently, BSF in Meghalaya intercepted several individuals attempting illegal border crossings, acting on specific intelligence inputs.

BSF apprehended four Bangladeshi nationals near the international border in the West Jaintia Hills district. In a swift operation, BSF troops also captured two more individuals near the South Garo Hills border. These actions were part of ongoing efforts to prevent illegal infiltration and curb trans-border crimes.

The detained individuals were handed over to police for legal proceedings. Investigations revealed some had been working as masons in Mumbai, while a female national sought medical treatment for her husband there.
