SDSTPS 800 MW Unit-3 Achieves 100-Day Continuous Operation Milestone

Sri Damodara Sanjeeviah Thermal Power Station's Unit-3 has achieved 100 days of continuous operation, showcasing its operational excellence. The unit contributes significantly to Andhra Pradesh's thermal power needs, generating 1,596.30 million units since November 2024. APGENCO continues to enhance thermal power output statewide.

Sri Damodara Sanjeeviah Thermal Power Station's 800 MW Unit-3 has marked a significant milestone, completing 100 days of continuous operation as of Thursday, an official statement confirmed.

KVN Chakradhar Babu, Managing Director of Andhra Pradesh Power Generation Corporation Ltd (APGENCO), emphasized the achievement's importance, demonstrating outstanding operational performance and reliability. The unit, located in Andhra Pradesh, has generated 1,596.30 million units (MU) with a commendable Plant Load Factor of 83 percent since its commercial operation began on November 18, 2024.

Generating a daily average of 45 MU, the plant accounts for 40 percent of the state's thermal power needs, particularly crucial during high electricity demand periods like summer. Babu highlighted APGENCO's ongoing efforts to boost thermal power output, maintaining production levels above 110 MU since January 2025.
