Lawyers Sworn In at Event Celebrating Legal Reforms

In a ceremonial event hosted by the Bar Council of Gujarat, newly registered lawyers took their oaths in Ahmedabad, overseen by Home Minister Amit Shah and Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel. The event underscored the vital role of legal professionals in upholding the Constitution and highlighted recent legal reforms championed by the Indian government.

The Bar Council of Gujarat hosted an oath-taking ceremony for newly registered lawyers in Ahmedabad, attended by Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah and Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel. Shah emphasized the legal profession's commitment as a sacred duty to bolster democracy and protect constitutional rights for all citizens.

The event coincided with the 75th anniversary of the Indian Constitution. Shah pointed to recent legislative reforms, including changes to criminal laws, as part of the country's ongoing legal evolution. India's rise to the fifth-largest global economy was credited, in part, to the contributions of the legal community.

Shah also acknowledged the profession's prominent role throughout history, citing leaders like Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and Mahatma Gandhi, both legal luminaries. He urged the fraternity to uphold a transparent and inclusive constitutional framework, reflecting the government's efforts in enhancing social, economic, and political justice.

Additionally, Chief Minister Patel highlighted the government's initiatives to expedite justice, focusing on the integration of new technology and digital infrastructure within the legal system. He emphasized collaborative efforts among the judiciary, the Bar Council, and the government to sustain this momentum.

Officials such as Law Minister Rushikesh Patel, Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, and Bar Council President JJ Patel were present, signifying a collective commitment to driving legal advancements and preserving public trust in judicial processes.
