Vibrant Holi Spectacle: Lathmar Tradition Lights Up Mathura

Rangbhari Ekadashi marks the beginning of Holi celebrations in Sambhal, with the iconic Lathmar Holi taking center stage in Nandagaon and Barsana, Mathura. The unique festivity, rooted in the playful legends of Krishna and Radha, attracts tourists and devotees, enhancing local cultural vibrancy.

In Sambhal, the much-anticipated Rangbhari Ekadashi Holi celebrations commenced on Monday, underscored by heightened security measures. Rangbhari Ekadashi signals the onset of the Holi festival, celebrated five days before the main event, with festivities enveloping local communities in vibrant colors and exuberance.

Sambhal's ASP Shrish Chandra, speaking to ANI, noted that extensive police deployment accompanies the day's activities, including a significant procession. Meanwhile, Mathura's Nandagaon bustled with the traditional 'Lathmar' Holi, launching a week-long series of joyful events. The unique event, steeped in the lore of Krishna and Radha, sees women from Barsana engaging in playful mock battles using sticks.

The festive mood escalates as Holi bhajans and 'Radhe Radhe' chants resonate through the air, blending with clouds of colored powder. The spectacle, featuring music, flower arrangements, and sweets, attracts visitors globally. The celebrations will pivot to Barsana, with reciprocal visits highlighting communal harmony. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, inaugurating Rangotsav 2025 in Barsana, emphasized regional development plans, aligning them with Ayodhya and Prayagraj's resurgence.
