Tragedy struck in Madhya Pradesh's Tikamgarh district when two young girls, Om Shanti, aged 15, and Chhavi, aged 10, drowned while bathing in the Dhasan river on Tuesday.
Police reported that the incident took place near Gona village, approximately 90 km from the Tikamgarh district headquarters. The girls were part of a group of six who were swimming when they tried to rescue one of their own, who was pulled into the deeper parts of the river.
The bodies of the two girls were recovered later by authorities, marking a devastating outcome for the community and their families. This unfortunate event highlights the dangers of unsupervised swimming in potentially hazardous waters.
