The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) has thrown its weight behind student protests opposing the alleged decision by the Telangana State Congress government to auction off lands belonging to Hyderabad Central University, an official announcement revealed.
Reaffirming the party's unwavering support, BRS Working President K T Rama Rao (KTR) met with a delegation of student leaders on Monday. The students criticized the Congress government's inconsistency, citing previous allocations of these lands for university purposes.
KTR advised expanding the protests to other central universities nationwide and pledged BRS's aid in lobbying the Union government to safeguard the lands. He emphasized preserving biodiversity and urged the students to seek help from the Union Ministry of Environment.
