A security scare erupted at Agartala Railway Station on Thursday when two unattended backpacks were discovered aboard the Tripura Sundari Express, which had arrived from Firozpur.
Railway escorts found the bags shortly after the train reached its final destination, prompting an immediate notification to the Government Railway Police (GRP) and Railway Protection Force (RPF).
Upon inspection, authorities revealed that the bags contained a total of eight pistols and sixteen magazines. Security measures have been intensified, and a forensic team has been deployed to gather evidence while CCTV footage is under review.
Assistant Commandant of RPF Agartala, BK Sinha, stated that the incident is under serious investigation with central agencies expected to assist.
