A major yoga session took place at AC Subba Reddy Stadium in Nellore, Andhra Pradesh, as part of International Yoga Day celebrations. The event was spearheaded by MP Vemireddy Prabhakar Reddy and District Collector O Anand, reinforcing the day's theme: 'One Earth, One Health'.
Addressing the assembly, MP Vemireddy highlighted yoga's significance, citing over 20 million participants nationwide and 11 lakh from Nellore district alone. He praised the district's extensive participation in the YogAndhra initiative and emphasized the need to teach yoga to children for holistic wellness.
District Collector O Anand praised the state government's role in the extensive implementation of the YogAndhra program across 7,000 locations. The event at the stadium itself attracted 10,000 people. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, speaking from Visakhapatnam, called for a global embrace of yoga as a tool for peace and unity.
