In a heartwarming display of interfaith harmony, devotees from Hindu, Sikh, Christian, and Muslim communities came together on Monday for a Yagya at Behramgala temple in Poonch. The event, organized under the aegis of the Sanatani Dharma Sabha, was a testament to the region's rich tradition of communal unity.
Khetrapal Sharma, President of the Sanatani Dharma Sabha, expressed delight at the diverse turnout, noting two annual bhandaras held at the temple in January and June, despite the absence of a single Hindu family in Behramgala. "This support across communities exemplifies Poonch's unique brotherhood," Sharma told ANI.
The event coincided with a solemn tribute by the Balnoi Battalion of the Indian Army to Captain Satish Khera, who made the ultimate sacrifice during the Indo-Pak War of 1965. Soldiers honored his legacy with a ceremonial uniform change at the Khera Complex, underscoring the unwavering courage and traditions cherished by the Indian Armed Forces.
