GRSE Launches India's Advanced Warship Himgiri

The state-owned defence company, Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers Ltd, has marked a significant milestone by delivering the guided-missile frigate Himgiri to the Indian Navy, sources reveal.
This frigate is the first in a series of three warships being constructed under the Indian Navy's ambitious Project 17A, the official noted. Rear Admiral Ravnish Seth, Chief Staff Officer (Technical), Eastern Naval Command, accepted the warship on behalf of the Navy.
Himgiri, featuring BrahMos and Barak 8 missile systems, represents a significant advancement in warfare technology, enhancing capabilities in anti-air, anti-surface, and anti-submarine operations. This delivery marks the 112th warship completed by the Kolkata-based GRSE.
