Union Minister G Kishan Reddy has strongly criticized Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for his controversial remarks involving the late Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley. In a social media post, Reddy accused Gandhi of exploiting deceased leaders for personal political gain.
The controversy arose following Rahul Gandhi's claim that the NDA government had once dispatched Jaitley to intimidate him over his opposition to the farm laws, which were introduced by the Narendra Modi administration in 2020. Reddy highlighted the inaccuracy of Gandhi's statement, pointing out that Jaitley passed away in 2019, before the introduction of these laws.
Demanding an unconditional apology to Jaitley's family, Reddy labeled Gandhi's comments as reprehensible and stressed that this was not an isolated instance of exploitative politics by Gandhi, referencing a past incident involving Manohar Parrikar and the Rafale defense deal.
