In an important decision for SJVN Ltd, Bhupender Gupta's tenure as the company's chairman and managing director (CMD) has been extended for another three months beginning August 1, 2025. This extension follows an initial three-month term starting May 1, with the Ministry of Power confirming the directive on August 4.
Currently serving as the Director (Technical) at THDC India Limited, Gupta has an extensive portfolio and vast expertise in the power sector. His career spans 32 years, including significant engagements with the Punatsangchhu Hydroelectric Project in Bhutan and the REC subsidiaries in India.
Gupta's educational credentials include a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical and an MBA in Operation Management. His tenure at SJVN previously involved significant contributions to India's largest hydroelectric project, Nathpa Jhakri Hydro Power Plant.
