INDIA Bloc Nominates Justice B Sudershan Reddy for Vice Presidential Race

The INDIA bloc on Tuesday nominated former Supreme Court Judge, Justice B Sudershan Reddy, as its candidate for the upcoming Vice Presidential election scheduled for September 9. Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge made the announcement in the national capital after a meeting with the INDIA bloc.

Justice B Sudershan Reddy will submit his nomination on August 21, with opposition MPs poised to gather in the central hall at 1 PM to show unified support, according to TMC MP Derek O'Brien. The opposition parties, including the Aam Aadmi Party, back Reddy's nomination.

Kharge emphasized the Vice Presidential election as an ideological battle, appreciating the united opposition's support. He described Justice Reddy as a progressive and courageous jurist with a longstanding commitment to social, economic, and political justice, highlighting his notable career in various high judicial positions.
