While commenting on the RSS's centenary celebrations, Shivakumar remarked, "Let them do whatever they want to do. But they are in no way connected to the freedom struggle."
The Deputy Chief Minister also reiterated the contemporary relevance of Mahatma Gandhi's teachings on peace and nonviolence, stating, "Gandhi is for peace... We want to see Gandhi's philosophy and the direction he gave to the country being implemented. We are the followers of Gandhi," stressing the enduring influence and necessity of Gandhi's ideals.
Meanwhile, in Nagpur, RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat delivered his annual Vijaydashami address, underscoring the critical role of individual character development and the Shakha system in cultivating disciplined, value-driven citizens. Bhagwat praised the efforts of Swayamsevaks in maintaining dialogue with society-focused individuals, indicating their active involvement across numerous social realms. He emphasized that a successful development model based on holistic and integrated outlook is imperative to counter future challenges.
Addressing the need for societal role models, Bhagwat called for individuals embodying transparency, selflessness, and a genuine commitment to societal well-being, asserting the importance of a gradual shift from current inadequacies to ensure resilience against global and national challenges.
