In a disturbing incident from Raebareli, Uttar Pradesh, three police officers, including a Sub-Inspector, have faced suspension amid investigations into the tragic death of a man reportedly assaulted by a mob. The attackers allegedly mistook the victim for a thief, according to police statements.
Assistant Superintendent of Police Sanjeev Kumar Sinha confirmed that a swift response led to five arrests, with ongoing efforts to identify and capture the remaining suspects. 'Raids are being conducted continuously, and justice will be pursued aggressively,' Sinha stated, underscoring the seriousness of the situation.
The victim's wife, Pinky, has publicly demanded government intervention, urging for those responsible to meet a similar fate as her husband. 'I have a daughter to care for,' she lamented, while noting that politicians, including Rahul Gandhi, have reached out to her family.
