Bihar Elections: NDA and Mahagathbandhan Gear Up for Seat Sharing

As the Bihar Assembly elections approach, political maneuvering intensifies with the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) set to finalize its seat-sharing arrangement. Bihar Minister Shravan Kumar confirmed on Wednesday that internal discussions within the NDA are ongoing, as parties present their positions, determined to reach amicable solutions.

Simultaneously, Mahagathbandhan factions, led by Congress, have expressed optimism about their electoral prospects. Congress leader Sachin Pilot projected confidence on Wednesday, assuring that seat-sharing specifics within the INDIA bloc would soon be unveiled. Highlighting key issues such as unemployment and migration, Pilot indicated a groundswell for change across Bihar, anticipating a landslide victory.

Contenders include the NDA coalition of BJP, JD(U), LJP (RV), HAM, and others, pitted against the Mahagathbandhan's RJD, Congress, and left-leaning allies like CPI, CPI (ML). The Election Commission has outlined voting for all 243 Assembly seats to occur in two phases, November 6 and November 11, with results expected on November 14, amidst a revised electoral list of 7.42 crore voters.
