In a strategic move to strengthen regional security, Handwara Police launched targeted raids on individuals connected to the proscribed Hurriyat and Jamaat-e-Islami factions. On October 7, authorities executed these searches at the homes of Gh. Hassan Khan in Maidan Chogol and Ab. Ahad Lone in Wahipora. These operations underscore efforts to dismantle potential threats to peace.

The raids form part of comprehensive investigations aimed at uncovering illicit activities that could compromise public safety. Authorities emphasize their commitment to preemptively tackling the terror ecosystem, highlighting a decisive approach to prevent any disruption of law and order.

Additionally, the Economic Offences Wing recently addressed fraudulent practices in Jammu and Kashmir's land compensation processes. A detailed investigation revealed large-scale embezzlement by Unitac Power Transmission Limited employees and land brokers, spotlighting corruption linked to the 400 KV DC Samba-Amargrah transmission project.
