A four-year-old boy, kidnapped from his Delhi home, was dramatically rescued from Lucknow within eight hours, police reported on Wednesday. The accused, Sudhakar Singh, 24, a resident of Uttar Pradesh, was intercepted onboard the Suhaildev Express train at Lucknow Railway Station.
Officials revealed that the kidnapping was reported at the Amar Colony Police Station on Sunday. The investigation disclosed that the boy's mother, Kanchan Gupta, had been in an Instagram relationship with Singh for about a year. Singh had previously threatened to kidnap her son if she refused to marry him. The boy's father, Pawan Gupta, noticed Singh near their home just hours before the kidnapping and later received a frantic call from his wife reporting the incident.
An FIR was quickly filed, leading to a rigorous police search using technical surveillance. Authorities tracked Singh's movements, ultimately arresting him and rescuing the unharmed child at Lucknow Railway Station. Singh confessed under interrogation that he intended to use the child to pressure the mother into marriage, according to ANI reports.
