The Gujarat government has unveiled a significant Rs 947 crore relief package aimed at aiding farmers from five districts heavily impacted by severe rains in August and September.
Agriculture Minister Jitu Vaghani highlighted that Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel prioritized the finalization of the package, even overseeing meetings during Diwali.
The aid, drawing from both the SDRF and state budget, will support farmers from 800 villages, with additional plans for long-term flood mitigation in low-lying areas.
