Yogi Adityanath Lauds UP Police on Commemoration Day
Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath praised the state police on Police Commemoration Day for their strong crime control and social harmony efforts. Initiatives include increased funding for police welfare, modern training for recruits, and new specialized units, with a focus on advancing women's safety and anti-corruption measures.

On Police Commemoration Day, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath paid tribute to fallen police officers at the Lucknow Reserve Police Line, applauding the state police for their remarkable service in maintaining law and order and upholding social harmony.
Speaking at the event, CM Yogi Adityanath noted that despite facing extremely challenging circumstances, the state police have prioritized their duty, commendably curbing crime, and maintaining societal peace. With the Prayagraj Mahakumbh 2025 approaching, the UP Police, along with central and other security forces, displayed exceptional dedication and discipline, setting high standards for security and order. The government has allocated substantial funds for the welfare and convenience of police personnel, including Rs 3.5 crore for their deployment and Rs 8 crore for their well-being.
Emphasizing support for police personnel and their families, the Chief Minister revealed financial grants for those stationed in different districts, as well as aid for families of deceased officers. To ensure urgent medical care, ₹6.64 crore has been advanced to 170 personnel through the Life Saving Fund. Additionally, ₹11 crore was disbursed under a life insurance scheme to beneficiaries of 374 deceased officers. The Ministry of Home Affairs has honored 763 officers with the Service Medal for exemplary service. Initiatives include inducting 60,244 recruits undergoing modern training to instill fear of the law in criminals. Efforts to modernize the police force highlight technological advancements and service-oriented skills, including women-friendly police stations, economic crime units, anti-human trafficking units, and cyber help desks statewide. He also addressed women's safety with police stations established in select regions, and specialized units like UPSSC positioned in various cities, aiming to bolster law enforcement capabilities.
