Tripura CM Advocates AI and Internet for Progress in Government College Event
Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha emphasized the necessity of embracing Artificial Intelligence and the Internet for societal advancement at a recent event. Inaugurating Wi-Fi in government colleges and launching the Mukhyamantri Yuba Yogayog Yojana, he highlighted technology's role in education and economic growth.

In a push for technological advancement, Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha called for the integration of Artificial Intelligence and Internet capabilities across various fields. Speaking at the inauguration of Wi-Fi facilities in 11 government colleges as part of the second phase, along with the launch of the Mukhyamantri Yuba Yogayog Yojana for the academic year 2024-25, CM Saha emphasized technology's potential to benefit the populace.
The event was co-hosted by the Information Technology and Higher Education Departments. CM Saha noted the swift deployment of Wi-Fi services in 19 state colleges before Saturday's extension to more institutions, highlighting the significant educational advantages. He also praised India's large youth demographic, which comprises approximately 60-65% of the nation's population, pointing out how this could help achieve the developmental goals set out by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
CM Saha stressed that Tripura is rapidly advancing in numerous areas and has recently been recognized as the third fully literate state in India under UNESCO guidelines, following Goa and Mizoram. He noted the increasing technological dependency across fields and mentioned financial support under the Mukhyamantri Yuba Yogayog Yojana, which allows final-year college students to purchase mobile phones. By encouraging technological use across sectors, including medical and agricultural fields, CM Saha underscored the importance of providing the best public services through technology.
