Telangana Minister Vakiti Srihari visited the renowned Tirumala Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple on Sunday, receiving a special Darshan of Lord Sri Venkateswara. Temple authorities, known as TTD officials, facilitated the visit with unique arrangements. The minister was greeted at the Ranganayakula Mandapam where Vedic scholars extended blessings and presented temple offerings.
The auspicious occasion of Kaishika Dwadashi was marked by the Kaishika Dwadashi Asthanam, celebrated with grandeur. Between 4:30 and 5:30 a.m., Lord Ugra Srinivasa Murthy, along with Goddesses Sridevi and Bhudevi, blessed devotees during a procession on the temple's traditional route. Adapting to the light rain, the procession moved indoors to the Ghatatopam mandapam.
The festival involves the once-a-year procession of Ugra Srinivasa Murthy, highlighting the deep spiritual significance of Kaishika Dwadashi. This day also recalls the tale of Nambaduvan, a devotee from a marginalized community, whose faith transforms a demon back to a Brahmin, emphasizing redemption. The event celebrates salvation through devout prayer, acknowledged in the recitation of Kaisika Raaga.
