The Indian Institute of Technology-Delhi has initiated a groundbreaking collaboration with the Eastern Regional Load Dispatch Centre to create an AI-enabled smart home energy system, according to official sources on Tuesday.

This innovative system will feature a real-time tariff plan, allowing electricity costs to fluctuate based on supply and demand, thereby optimizing usage for consumers.

Preeti Ranjan Panda, Dean of Corporate Relations at IIT Delhi, noted that the technology would automate load control, support demand flexibility, and enhance grid reliability, marking a pivotal step towards sustainable energy use and robust data security.
