The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued orange and yellow alerts across various districts in Tamil Nadu for the next three hours, warning of moderate to light rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms in isolated areas.

As per the Chennai Regional Meteorological Department (RMC), regions such as Kanyakumari, Tenkasi, Thoothukkudi, and Tirunelveli have been advised to prepare for potential waterlogging and traffic disruptions due to moderate rain and thunderstorms. An orange alert has been raised for these areas, indicating heightened vigilance.

In contrast, regions including Ramanathapuram, Sivagangai, and Chennai face yellow alerts due to potential slippery road conditions and water accumulation. These alerts come as southern districts experience wind speeds averaging 41-61 km/h. A total of 17 districts have received warnings, with significant alerts persisting until 4 PM.
