Drone Attacks Disrupt Key Gas Field in Kurdistan
Khor Mor gas field in Kurdistan was emptied for safety following a drone attack, causing ongoing production delays. While initial reports suggested LPG exports had resumed, authorities confirmed production remains halted. This follows a series of attacks impacting the region's energy output significantly.
Tanks holding liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) at Iraq's Khor Mor field in Kurdistan have been emptied for safety concerns after a drone attack on Wednesday, according to a source from joint field operator Dana Gas.
Despite earlier reports indicating resumption, production has not restarted. On Thursday, Dana Gas reported a rocket strike on a storage tank, leading to a halt in production and extensive power outages.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack, which is the most significant since July's drone attacks that slashed regional oil production by 150,000 barrels per day.
