Nanded district plans an ambitious initiative to build over one lakh 'jaltaras' to bolster rainwater harvesting, announced District Collector Rahul Kardile at the World Soil Day event.

The 'Jaltara Shramdaan' drive, launched in Shirshi Khurd, Kandhar tehsil, aligns with the strategic 'Catch the Rain-Where it Falls, When it Falls' initiative.

Backed by MGNREGA and BRLF, this project supports groundwater enhancement and soil conservation, utilizing simple yet effective structures that allow significant rainwater percolation on farmlands.
