Following extensive disruptions across its network, IndiGo announced on Saturday that it plans to run over 1,500 flights by day's end, citing 'early signs of improvement.' The airline acknowledged the cancellation of a substantial number of flights on December 5, operating just over 700 trips to 113 destinations during a significant system reboot.

The reset is crucial to stabilize operations and enhance schedules, allowing the airline to start Saturday with a strengthened network. 'Addressing the recent network disruptions, we cancelled a notable number of flights and ran a bit over 700 on the previous day, covering 113 destinations,' an IndiGo spokesperson stated.

'The primary goal was to reboot our network, systems, and rosters, letting us begin anew with more flights and improved stability. We're on track to operate over 1,500 flights by the end of the day,' they elaborated. The airline also mentioned that over 95% of network connectivity has been reinstated, resuming operations in 135 out of 138 destinations.

'Regarding destinations, connectivity for over 95% of our network is re-established, enabling operations to 135 of the 138 destinations,' the spokesperson added. 'While there's still a considerable journey ahead, our commitment remains to regain customer trust. Our gratitude extends to partners, government agencies, customers, and staff for their unwavering support and patience during these challenging times. We sincerely apologize again,' read the statement further.

In light of widespread disruptions leaving thousands stranded, IndiGo affirmed on Saturday its efforts to stabilize operations. With cancellations dropping below 850 compared to prior days, travelers are urged to verify flight statuses online for updates and refunds.

According to an airline statement, 'IndiGo is diligently working to restore operational normalcy. Our focus is on stabilizing schedules, reducing delays, and supporting customers during this period. Cancellations have reduced to under 850 flights, significantly lower than previously. Efforts continue to lessen this number over upcoming days.' 'We prioritize customer refunds and maintain close coordination with airports and partners for timely customer updates. We highly recommend checking the latest flight statuses via https://www.goindigo.in/check-flight-status.html before heading to airports. For refunds, visit https://www.goindigo.in/refund.html or contact our customer support,' concluded the statement.

IndiGo's operations across India remained severely disrupted as of Saturday, with over 100 flights canceled and passengers left stranded at airports in cities like Mumbai, Hyderabad, and Guwahati. (ANI)
