Ahead of a significant discussion in Parliament on the 150th anniversary of the iconic 'Vande Mataram', Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Priyanka Chaturvedi has voiced her hope for a thorough debate. Chaturvedi emphasized the importance of focusing on the cultural and freedom struggle origins of the slogan rather than election agendas.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to partake in the debate, which will examine lesser-known aspects of the song. Union Home Minister Amit Shah will open the discussion, highlighting 'Vande Mataram's' enduring legacy and significance in Indian history.
The BJP-led NDA government, allocated three hours in the Lok Sabha, will participate as part of a broader ten-hour discussion including the Rajya Sabha. Congress leaders will also contribute, as they honor the song first published in 1875 and composed by Rabindranath Tagore.
